Originally designed as a low powered, high speed weapon for the AX-70 airships, some maniac in an R&D lab, somewhere in the depths of the city decided it would make a great hand held weapon. The result is the Laser Minigun which fires around 1200 densely packed energy rounds per minute, and absolutely shreds through any of the latest shield technology on the market.
